Joy Through Action

FARM | ‘färm | n: a tract of land devoted to agricultural purposes. A place where nourishment is grown with a prioritization on healthy soil, where food is grown in harmony with plants, animals, humans, and the greater ecosystem.

CRAG | ’krag | n: a steep rugged rock or cliff. Climbers have adopted these as a place to climb, mountain bike trails thread between them, paragliders launch from them, runners and hikers are immersed in their natural beauty.

We Are Farm To Crag.

We’re a climber-driven non-profit responding to climate change by encouraging food choices that create healthier athletes, thriving communities, and climate resilient soils.

At Farm To Crag, we believe that eating food grown by sustainable farming practices is an easy and powerful way for climbers to take action on climate change. We live by a simple equation—healthy soil equals nutrient dense food and equals strong climbers.

As climbers, we have the unique opportunity to vote with our forks and positively impact the health of the places where we climb—our soils, our earth, and our bodies. At Farm to Crag, we live by these principles.

Farm to Crag Soil & Sustenance Fund:

Healing ecosystems and feeding communities through CSA support for low-income households.

This program addresses two major barriers to equity & affordability for families and financial viability for regenerative farms. In 2025, we are providing 100 low-income households with $150 toward seasonal Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares.

Farm To Crag makes it easy for you to find local, seasonal, and sustainable food wherever you are.

Whether traveling to your local crag, a far-flung climbing area, or heading to the mountains for a run, seeking out locally-grown food provides better fuel for your adventure and helps sustain the passionate growers and communities that support our favorite pastime. It’s a joyful way to make a positive environmental change.

We help you find food and community through our interactive Farm To Crag map, by hosting educational climbing events at local organic farms, by taking climbers farming—and farmers climbing—through climbing gym dinners that celebrate local food, awe-invoking stories, and farm policy tutorials.

What we do.

Joy & Gratitude: We joyfully climb, eat, gather, and take action, expressing gratitude for the beauty and diversity of our planet and its people.

Collaboration & Community: We know that it takes all of us—through aligned and coordinated actions—to achieve our vision.

Patience & Sustainability: We advocate for a food system that sustains—and regenerates—our soils and waters, and we do this work at a pace that we can sustain. Change takes time and requires trust.

Respect & Inclusion: We center and embrace cultural diversity in food and farming practices, and we honor indigenous ancestral wisdom of reciprocity with our land, food, and planet.

Self-Determination & Justice: We all have a story, a voice, and a say in our future. Across our differences, all of us deserve healthy outdoor spaces, nourishing food, and thriving communities.

Our core values.
